Inside one of the city’s most distinctive buildings—a sleek tower designed by architects I.M. Pei and Henry N. Cobb, our Montreal office space puts you in the center of the city. WeWork Place Ville Marie occupies the fourth floor of the silver skyscraper, offering views of the sweeping Champlain Bridge from one of the cozy common areas. You’re easy walking distance from the green and orange Métro lines, as well as plenty of buses and commuter trains. In warm weather, people drift down to the plaza to enjoy the cool breezes blowing off the St. Lawrence River. Don’t want to head outside? The building is connected to the upscale Galerie Place Ville Marie shopping center and Montreal’s vast Underground City. Because of its central location, this Montreal coworking space draws nonprofit groups, small startups, and established companies who like having a one-of-a-kind downtown address.

A popular co-working space downtown on several floors, with a committable coffee bar and free access for visitors. Nice spots for working in a group or alone, but can get quite busy in the common areas sure to its popularity. They organise events, trainings etc. Access is through an elevator from the ground floor.

Wework Montreal: Place is too noisy, crowded and it's under constant construction. If you plan to stay for long, bring a portable toilet.

Having heard good things about WeWork I joined in May. Early on I realised the place wasn't for me. That's not to say they haven't done a good job with the interior design, nor is there anything fundamentally wrong with the place. However my personal preference is for hot desks vs fixed desks. Part of the reason I choose to work in an office as opposed to at my apartment is to network & meet people, and I find hot desks facilitate this better. That said, the lobby in WeWork is relatively social, so if you stick around for a reasonable amount of time, networking should be quite easy. After a week I spoke to WeWork, and explained I would like to end my membership. Was told that I need to give a months notice, which meant I would have to pay for another month before leaving. To me this seems quite cheeky. As when you sign up, the only way to give a months notice would be to inform them on the same day you sign up. It should be made clear at the start that the minimum sign up time is 2 months. When the contract finished, I was told 30 days max before my deposit would be returned. After 30 days I had to chase things up, and then they asked for my bank details (why only ask now?). 2 weeks later I had the deposit returned. Far more difficult that it needed to be! :(
